Winter 2024 Read-aloud
When I first pitched the idea of organizing an event where students could read their published work aloud, it received tentative approval. Questions arose—How would we secure funding? How would we attract an audience? Despite the uncertainties, I was passionate about bringing this idea to life.
In the weeks leading up to the Read-Aloud, I dedicated over 60 hours to planning and preparation. I spent countless hours watching video tutorials on floral arrangements, thrifting ribbon and seashells for decorations, and learning new design software to create the program. Every aspect of the event was carefully considered, down to the smallest details. I meticulously arranged each silver tinsel ribbon, ensuring that every element was thoughtfully placed to enhance the atmosphere.
The process was time-consuming, but every detail mattered. The event wasn’t just about the readings—it was about creating an experience that felt intentional and memorable for everyone involved.
